Welcome to my blog!

I'm Elizabeth, a former elementary art teacher, now computer teacher living in Chicago. I got married December 2010 and just 6 months later my new husband and I bought our first home, a loft in downtown Chicago. I'm in love with my new home and never want to part with it.

I love crafting, baking, and many of the traditional things I wife would do, but just not in living in a suburb or the country style. I was a subscriber to Blueprint magazine, the best ever for young urban women. When it was shutdown they switched my subscription to Martha Stewart Living; the first issue I received was the gardening special. I lived in a 300 sf apartment (including closets and bathroom) with no outdoor space, what was I supposed to do with that? Since moving into my new place I've enjoyed making it a home with my own touch and wanted to share my ideas for like-minded women.

I love finding great solutions for truly small spaces. I love IKEA for what it can do for small spaces and it's fab modern design. I love baking, sewing, crafting, painting, art, dancing, and travel!
